Visual Cities Campaign

Client: York MDes Graduate Thesis

My graduate thesis exhibition, Visible Cities, explored tactics of unconventional city branding, public exhibition and visual storytelling within dense urban frameworks. Various collateral was produced to support this event including posters, postcards, pins and an expansive social media presence. The branding of VC used a visual language composed of spatial tessellations reminiscent of construction simulations, isometric cartography and (re)constructed media.

The custom typeface designed for this project is intended to test the limits of legibility. Like the stories layered in our cities, this type asks viewers to be learn its unique visual characteristics before trying to interpret meaning.
